Hedwiga Medard Tairo is a Tanzanian visual artist whose work blends realism, surrealism, and graffiti to explore themes of mental health, personal identity, and social awareness. Inspired by her brother’s journey with autism and her own life experiences, she uses watercolor, acrylics, and street art to spark dialogue and challenge stigma around mental health. Since beginning her artistic journey in 2019, she has exhibited internationally, illustrated children's books, and collaborated on public art projects, while also teaching and mentoring young artists through platforms like Nafasi Art Space and Women Xpress.
